Kathleen Craig embraces the spontaneity of the painting process, allowing organic forms to develop on her canvas. More concerned with tonal relationships and composition than portraying realism, her paintings of nature and still-lifes capture the essence of her subjects through broad patches of color and abbreviated forms.

Everything I paint has to be real, both in terms of physical seeing and in genuineness of my own perceptions, nature, and abilities.
